Hannah Griffin (Winter) is a graduate from the Bluefield University Women’s Volleyball team (2012-2016). A defensive specialist, Hannah was utilized as right side hitter, outside hitter, DS, and Libero during her four years with the program.
In 2015, she was the assistant coach for the Bluefield University's Men’s Volleyball Team where she specialized in recruiting, analyzing the other team’s offense, and advising players in their defensive play.
Since graduating, Hannah coached for Phoenix Academy for 3 years, Caldwell Academy for 3 years, then for High Point Christian Academy the last two years as the varsity Head Coach. Hannah has coached for Hurricane Volleyball Club since its inception in 2018, becoming club director in 2020.
Hannah is a teacher, mom, and wife. She is passionate about working with young adults in the classroom and on the court.
In Hannah's 8 years with the program, she has coached everything from 12u and Lil Canes up to multiple 18 National teams, and she has assisted all HVC players with their recruitment process.

Daniel Griffin is a graduate from the Bluefield University Men’s Volleyball team (2014-2016). Daniel has experience playing right side hitter, outside hitter, DS, and Libero at the collegiate level. Daniel was also four year starter for the Bluefield University Football program, setting school records. Being a duel sport collegiate athlete gives him a diverse and well-rounded perspective as a coach!
Since graduating, Daniel has coached high school football four years, middle school baseball, and for Hurricane Volleyball Club since 2020.
As an HVC coach, Daniel has primarily coached 15u-18u level teams.

Coach Jordan played volleyball through high school where he specialized in setting. Coach Jordan has coached for NCLA and has experience coaching for PVC and Vegas Elite Volleyball before coming to HVC in 2024. This year, Coach Jordan will be starting Barber-Scotia's College women's volleyball program as their head coach.
“I’m returning to the Canes excited and ready to lift my team to new heights and new goals. I love working and developing athletes to reach their full-potential. I enjoy watching the girls believe in themselves more and more each day.”
Coach Jordan is also pursuing his law degree at High Point University.
Coach Jordan began coaching for HVC in 2024. He has coached 15u-16 teams at various levels.

Coach Aryn played right side at Bethune Cookman University, and she coached club for DME Academy.
“This past season with HVC was such a positive and rewarding experience. As an assistant coach, it was incredible to watch the athletes grow not just in their skills, but also in confidence, teamwork, and passion for the game. Being part of such a supportive and driven environment made every practice and match something to look forward to. I’m truly grateful to be part of the HVC family and can’t wait for the upcoming season. I’m excited for new challenges, continued growth, and another great year with this amazing club!“
Coach Aryn just graduated with her degree in mathematics from NC A&T. She has coached for HVC since 2024. Coach Aryn has coached in the 15u-18u age group at the regional and zonal level.

Coach Jason started playing volleyball at the age of 14. He played in the Air Force on back to back USAFE championship Spangdahlem AB teams and continued playing both sand and grass tournaments for the next 20+ years. Jason began his coaching career in 2018 at the Alamance County YMCA, his travel coaching in 2019, and has been coaching travel ball ever since. Whether playing or coaching— volleyball has been a huge part of his life over the past seven years.
Coach Jason began coaching for HVC in 2025. Coach Jason is currently the head coach for our HVC East team out of Burlington, NC.

Coach Samantha started her volleyball career at 12 years old. She played volleyball through middle and high school with the Alamance Acers and 4 seasons of club volleyball. She has been working with athletes from the ages of 10-16 since 2022, coaching and mentoring in seasonal skills clinics with Archway Enrichment Classes. She started offering her own private lessons to younger athletes and coaching at the Alamance County YMCA in 2023.
Samantha’s largest focus is teamwork and inclusion for all athletes. Samantha began coaching with HVC in 2025, and she specializes in the 12u-14u age range.

Coach Elizabeth brings both collegiate experience and dedicated coaching expertise to the court. As a former Division II middle blocker at Winston-Salem State University, Elizabeth learned firsthand the power of teamwork, discipline, and mental stamina. She has over 5 years of competitive coaching, most notably mentoring her daughter in the role of defensive specialist. Coach Elizabeth coached JV and assisted Varsity for High Point Christian Academy in the 2025 season.
“Volleyball, to me, is more than a sport; it’s a powerful platform for building leadership, confidence, and life skills that extend far beyond the court. I am committed to developing well-rounded athletes, focusing not only on technical excellence but also on character, communication, and resilience. Whether you’re new to the game or pushing to the next level, my goal is to help each player grow, compete, and love the journey.”
Coach Elizabeth began coaching with HVC in 2025.

Coach Caleb brings a deep passion for the game and a heart for developing young athletes both on and off the court. He coached with NC Power Volleyball Club from Fall 2023 to Spring 2025, working with both boys’ and girls’ teams, and has also served as an assistant coach for the women’s team at Rockingham Community College during the Fall 2024 season. Caleb emphasizes player safety, strong fundamentals, and positive culture. Caleb is all about investing in the next generation of athletes and equipping them to compete with heart, hustle, and humility.
“I coach because I believe sports have the power to shape not just players, but people. Every practice is an opportunity to build resilience, integrity, and brotherhood or sisterhood—and I want to be part of that journey.”
Coach Caleb began coaching with HVC in 2025.

Coach Cienna played volleyball all throughout middle and high school at Northern Guilford, and her main position was as setter. She also played three years of club volleyball as a setter and right side for Piedmont Volleyball Club and NC Power.
“I am excited to be back on the volleyball court! I am looking forward to helping young athletes develop their skills and encouraging them to be the best players on and off the court.”
Coach Cienna began coaching with HVC in 2025.

Coach Michelle was a setter in high school and a 2-sport athlete at Indiana Wesleyan University before marrying, moving to NC, and finishing out college playing basketball at Greensboro College.
When her daughter decided to try volleyball, Michelle fell back in love with the sport and was the assistant coach for the Alamance Acers in 2024 and a middle school coach in 2025. Michelle loves to encourage teamwork and a competitive drive, improving every time the girls step on the court.
Michelle started coaching for HVC in 2025.

Coach Nate is a ACSM-Certified Personal Trainer. His additional specialties include strength training, circuit training, conditioning, and sport specific training. Nate’s fitness journey began as a student athlete in middle school. Facing several health challenges, and it was a unique combination of caring people plus fitness and sports that empowered Coach Nate to achieve his goals. Nate is taking on the role of our strength, conditioning, and injury prevention training for HVC.
Coach Nate started coaching for HVC in 2025.

Coach Dan has 20+ years of experience playing on travel teams in Florida and North Carolina as an outside (and sometimes Middle) hitter. Dan coached at Grimsley High School (2002-2004), Piedmont Volleyball Club (2002-2005) and then joined Hurricanes VBC for the 2019-2020 season. With the club’s expansion to include HVC East, Dan will be moving into the role of Coaching Support and Compliance with the focus on maintaining HVC’s high standards across all locations!
